High oleic safflower oil as a feedstock for stable biodiesel and biolubricant production

چکیده
Biodiesel and other derivative compounds which could act as biolubricants, can be a suitable alternative for petroleum products, are less sustainable harmful to the environment. However, especially when vegetable oils used raw materials (for instance Carthamus Tinctorius), these products show poor oxidative stabilities, depending on their fatty acid composition. Apart from adding antioxidants additives, good might use of genetically modified seeds facilitate high ratios stable acids like oleic acid. The aim this work was produce biodiesel biolubricant safflower through transesterification with methanol 2-ethyl-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol, respectively. efficiency processes quality characterization were assessed. As result, obtained (HOSBD) complied standard, stability value (8.2 h) not requiring any antioxidant addition. (HOSBL) showed higher (6.72 compared equivalents produced rapeseed (Brassica Napus) or cardoon (Cynara Cardunculus L.). Consequently, two bioproducts role composition material vital (oleic/linoleic ratio had strong influence stability). In that sense, avoid addition in implies cleaner more production.

Waste Cooking Oil as an Alternate Feedstock for Biodiesel Production
As crude oil price reach a new high, the need for developing alternate fuels has become acute. Alternate fuels should be economically attractive in order to compete with currently used fossil fuels. In this work, biodiesel (ethyl ester) was prepared from waste cooking oil collected from a local restaurant in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ethyl alcohol with sodium hydroxide as a catalyst was use...
متن کاملDeacidification of Pistacia chinensis Oil as a Promising Non-Edible Feedstock for Biodiesel Production in China
Pistacia chinensis seed oil is proposed as a promising non-edible feedstock for biodiesel production. Different extraction methods were tested and compared to obtain crude oil from the seed of Pistacia chinensis, along with various deacidification measures of refined oil. The biodiesel was produced through catalysis of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH). The results showed th...
